Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
1) To come alongside the ex-prisoners and the homeless and the elderly, acknowledging that they are people of worth, dignity, and that each is a child of God. Some of the components of our ministry include: prayer, Christian ministry, small group fellowship, Church outreach, visitations, food, water, clothing, backpacks, bags, Testaments, Bibles, books, personal hygiene items, fellowship, and to act and speak as an advocate for the ex-prisoners and the homeless and the elderly.
2) To extend to the ex-prisoners and the homeless and the elderly God’s love and mercies, and through Him, seek to determine individual needs and fill them.
3) To meet with pastors and their mission committees, to speak with Churches to encourage their financial and in-kind support; to advise them of the needs of the ex-prisoners and the homeless and the elderly and how they can participate in assisting Hand-Up Foundation of Monterey County, Inc. meet those needs.
4) To assist the ex-prisoners and the homeless and the elderly, through training opportunities shaped according to individual skills and aptitude levels, into becoming productive citizens. Examples of extended training opportunities will be in the areas of:
Practical Needs; Occupational Training; Government Resources; Wellness Classes; Educational Connections; and coming will be Thrift Store; Transition Homes; Seminary and Bible studies; Culinary Connection; and limited supported Elderly Resources.
5) To establish a comprehensive, long-term, residential substance abuse (a variety of) recovery program that is based on and practices Christian principles for long term recovery, for those who have a strong desire to change their lives, and to obtain and utilize facilities adequate to successfully perform those intended activities.
